Hurricane Florence is expected to make landfall Friday morning.
The Raleigh-Durham area may see isolated flooding, downed trees and power outages, so individuals should take all precautions during the storm and continue to monitor this website, local news and weather broadcasts, and the Working@Duke Twitter account for the latest information.
As the storm inches toward the North Carolina coast, the following services and other campus updates are reported at this time:
The C1 and C2/CCX buses will cease operation at midnight today. Duke buses will operate on a limited schedule this weekend because of Hurricane Florence. Van Services will cease operating for the weekend beginning at 6:45 a.m. Friday. Buses will operate as long as weather and wind conditions permit. Passengers should expect delays throughout the storm.
Community members are encouraged to check the severe weather transit announcement on Duke TransLoc before heading out for real-time schedules and routes.
The Marketplace on East Campus is open Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Most eateries in the Brodhead Center are open today, tomorrow and Saturday, however, some other venues on West Campus are closed today, Friday and Saturday. For the full schedule of Dining locations and hours, see here.
Duke University Stores
Most venues closed at noon Thursday. The Duke North Gift Shop, Duke Technology Center, Textbook Store, Gothic Bookshop and University Store will close at 4 p.m. The Duke Stores Administrative and Licensing Office and the Office Products unit will close at 4 p.m. The East Campus Store, Lobby Shop and Uncle Harry’s will close at 9 p.m.
On Friday: Duke North Gift Shop, Duke Technology Center, Textbook Store, Gothic Bookshop and University Store, as well as the Administrative and Licensing Office and the Office Products unit, will operate from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. The East Campus Store is open from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Friday, while the Lobby Shop is open from 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Uncle Harry’s is open from 11 a.m.-9 p.m. All other venues will remain closed.
On Saturday: Most locations will be closed. The Duke North Gift Shop, Duke Technology Center, Textbook Store, Gothic Bookshop and University Store is open from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. The East Campus Store will operate from noon-8 p.m., the Lobby Shop will be open from 10 a.m.-9 p.m. and Uncle Harry’s operates from 11 a.m.-9 p.m.
Student Wellness Center
The center closed at 12 p.m. today. If students need immediate assistance, call 919-681-9355 and a HealthLink operator will assist. In an emergency, dial 9-1-1.
Perkins & Bostock Libraries will close beginning at 5 p.m. on today and will remain closed through Friday, September 14. Hours for Saturday and Sunday will depend on conditions during and following the severe weather. For the latest all the Libraries’ hours, see here.
Nasher Museum of Art
The Nasher Museum, Nasher Museum Store and Nasher Museum Café is closed today through Saturday, September 15, and possibly Sunday, September 16. For the latest schedule, visit the Nasher site and check its social media feeds.
Duke Recreation Facilities
Wilson Recreation Center, Brodie Recreation Center, and Card Gym will remain open until 8 p.m. today. All facilities will be closed Friday. For gym hours, see here.
