Temperatures are expected to rise above freezing Sunday afternoon, which should help improve conditions on roads, parking lots and walkways. The Severe Weather and Emergency Conditions policy will be extended for Duke University and Duke University Health System to noon Sunday. Officials anticipate returning to normal operations Sunday afternoon, but a decision will be confirmed by Sunday morning.
Several services and events have been modified due to poor traveling conditions. Duke Performances has canceled the Sunday concert with Thymos Quartet and Christoph Eschenbach, and Duke Chapel has canceled Sunday morning worship service. Limited bus service with the C1 East-West route is expected to begin Sunday at 9 a.m., weather permitting. Duke community members are encouraged to stay informed about other events and operations by checking this site and the Campus Service Updates for additional updates on parking lots, busing routes, dining facilities, and stores.
Members of the Duke community are encouraged to continue to use the priority snow/ice clearing routes to travel to and from campus buildings during winter weather since normal routes may not be cleared.
