Due to the extraordinary work of our facilities and operations staff, the roads, walkways, and parking lots across the university and health system have improved significantly during the afternoon. As a result, the Severe Weather and Emergency Conditions policy will end at 5 p.m. and classes will resume as scheduled Wednesday morning.
While campus conditions have improved significantly, many highways and secondary roads will likely still have icy spots, so individuals should continue to use extreme caution and allow extra time to travel to campus. Priority lots have been cleared, but temperatures are expected to be well below freezing tonight so some refreezing is expected. Members of the Duke Community should review the priority clearing map to determine the preferred paths of travel during severe weather, which may differ from normal routines.
Additional updates, including the the current status of roads, parking lots, busing routes, dining facilities and Duke stores, will be posted on the DukeALERT emergency website.
