The Severe Weather and Emergency Conditions policy for Duke University and Duke University Health System will be activated as of 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 16. The Provost has also canceled classes scheduled to begin after 5 p.m. Monday evening.
The policy will remain in effect until further notice, but officials hope to make a decision later tonight about the possible extension of the policy tomorrow morning.
All staff in “Essential Service” positions should report to work or remain at work once the Severe Weather and Emergency Conditions policy is in effect. Members of the Duke community should also review the priority clearing map to determine the preferred paths of travel during severe weather, which may differ from normal routines.
Gates on parking lots and garages will be open after 5 p.m. today to provide safe access during winter weather for staff in Essential Service positions.
