The Severe Weather and Emergency Conditions policy will end at 5 p.m. Wednesday and is not expected to be extended. Duke will return to normal operations and classes will resume on Thursday, Jan. 30. Classes scheduled for Wednesday evening remain cancelled.
All specialty clinics (Private Diagnostic Clinic and hospital-based) and primary care clinics will open to the public at 10 a.m. Thursday.
Most priority roads, parking lots and walkways have been cleared and are in good shape, but temperatures are expected to drop tonight and refreezing could occur.
Individuals are urged to allow extra time and use caution while traveling to and around campus Thursday morning as surfaces may still be slippery. Sloped surfaces, stairs, ramps, and paths not identified as a preferred route of travel should be avoided. Community members are encouraged to use Duke’s snow and ice priority roads, walkways and parking facilities to get to and around campus.
